There are times when Odie's head will be hanging low too, but his mood wouldn't change.
I figured if his head would be hanging low, he'd still be in focus mode or identifying the environment.
One time when Odie and I took our friends Nat and her guide dog Liam home upon wheeling their bag of dog food in a cart, it lightly began to snow.
After I left their home, the snow started to pick up.
Odie couldn't see because of the white out conditions, so he had to put his nose toward the ground in order to smell where we were.
I'd also stop to check with my foot to be sure we were still on the right track.
Once we neared Save Alot, he brought up his head and began to pick up the pace.
I've had people tell me Odie looks sad when hs head is hanging low, but I'd respond that he's just focused on what's going on around us.
The best way to really know what your dog's indications are is touching their head and feeling the tops of their ear flops.
I'd only get concerned if she's not wagging her tail, then something's really wrong.
