Jenny,

Good for you! You must be so excited by now!

A sleep shade is a blindfold, and one cannot see through it. In other
words, when an assessment of my ability to perform tasks of any sort
under sleepshade results in the conclusion that I am using my "really
great vision," there is something inherently implausible about that
conclusion. Because, of course, no one can use their vision to do
anything while wearing a sleep shade! That's the point of the
sleepshade. Sigh.

In other words... I don't have really good vision, to begin with, didn't
then, have less now. My eye exams at the time indicated that I did not
have vision to use in reading street signs, etc., etc., that I was past
reading print even. I hadn't been able to read street signs since before
I was legally blind, actually. Didn't have good enough vision even with
correction to do that!

So the really great vision under sleepshade isn't the only obviously,
er, crazy thing this agency has come up with, and I'm not the only one
to have had such "determinations" made that impact VR, reports to guide
dog schools, etc. For some reason, though, these things are believed...
Go figure!

Anyway, glad you are getting on with your application and closer to
being matched to your new partner!

Tami

I'm just waiting on my mental health clearance, which I've heard nothing about yet. I'm going to call my people there and light a fire under them to get it going.
