        I think Pilot gave you a less then helpful answer.
Try other schools.
I say this because your solution of finding a trainer is expensive. Marti has done this, most others go to a school or train their own dogs.
Since you fit the standard mold, I'd call other schools.

It doesn't sound like your situation is at all unique.

No, pilot jsut said that since I had a small child in the house along
with 2 smaller dogs, that it would be harder to find a dog that is
both able to live with small dogs and children, and be the breed I
want. *shrugs*
