My O&M instructor here in Southeast PA was very helpful in terms of my guide dog experience. While she was teaching me how to navigate with a cane, she also talked about how things might work with a dog. Several years later I went to TSE and when I had some difficulaties in my first year working as a team, this instructor paid me a visit and was very helpful in getting my dog & I back on track.
