My advice would be just the opposite: *don't* call ahead and let them know you have a guide dog. It gives more opportunity to make assumptions about what you need, or don't. I also disagree about bulkhead seating. In general, though by no means always, I find there's enough room in the bulkhead row for your dog, or for your feet, but not really both. Unless your dog is a moose, he should be able to slide under the seat in front of you. I do agree about getting a window seat, though. There seems to be a bit more room there.
