[nagdu] people who persist in petting

Eve,

You're not kidding about the effect of local culture when it comes to
guide dogs! For a long time, I thought I would go mad living in a
super-dog friendly city. It was insane. But I guess the combined efforts
of local guide dog users started having an effect, so I could hear
people walking by telling each other and their kids how the dog was
working so they couldn't pet. Made me smile. I still love to hear kids
lecturing their parents while their parents solemnly agree as they pass
the cute doggy by. Whew!

I didn't know what to expect when we moved back here to the small town
where we're (as far as I know) the only guide dog team. It appears there
are some service dog users who have educated the public or something
because I have been really pleased with our ability to go about and mind
our own business without interference. /smile/
