Hi, all,
My subject may be a weird one, but here it goes...
If you'd rather not read this, then please feel free to delete and move on.
Odie and I ventured out to 7 11 last night upon assisting another resident to get there.
She was elderly than I was, so I felt the need it was better off we did the buddy system.
While we were out, I could smell the smoke from all the fires burning here in Colorado, especially the Black Forest fire.
Odie wasn't too happy and he was concerned about getting me back home.
I suspect he knew that if we were out longer, the smoke would trigger my astha to flare up.
I was wondering out of curiosity if smoke can affect dogs and other animals like us humans?
If so, how long should Odie and I be outdoors?
After coming back inside from taking him out for potty time, should I use a wash cloth to clean off his eyes?
I planned to get up bright and early today to do my grocery shopping, but found out I have another counseling appointment this morning.
I'll definitely be using my oxygen later this morning when going to denver Health Medical.
I know if I don't Odie will have a big fit and get all over me.
Guess the grocery shopping trip will have to be put off again.
Maybe I'll plan Friday morning, but will have to see if the air quality will be any better or not.
I'm definitely not brushing Odie outside while all this stuff is in the air.
It's best to keep us both inside for the time being.
I can admit that once we got back from 7 11, I immediately took my rescue inhailer so I wouldn't have to deal with Odie getting on my case.
I do hope the smoke plooms will die down soon or else, Odie and I would have to end up in another ambulance together: me having to go straight to Denver Health Medical so my lungs can get flushed out and tougher asthma treatment having to be done.
All I can do is pray that Odie and I won't have to endure another wammy as we dealt with a not so happy one two months ago.
As far as the blind organizations here in Colorado, I'll need to send them an email to make sure that all blind individuals are safe and sound, including the guide/assistance dogs teams.
