[nagdu] Crosswalks

Ken,

the audible pedestrian signals are only going to tell you when the light has
changed. It sounds like your problem is more about drivers following the
pedestrian yield laws. An audible signal isn't going to help with drivers
following the laws. They can still run red lights, talk on the phone, do
their make up and generally not drive while driving.

I do think the audible signals can be helpful at some intersections where it
is difficult to figure out when it is your turn to cross, but that is only
one aspect of street crossings. You still have to be alert to drivers who
aren't paying attention, emergency vehicles, construction and the many other
variables.

Julie

Thanks Marilyn, but no, none in my area are audible, however I will check on
what I can do to get audible ones installed.
Thanks,

Hi Ken,
Do you have Audible Pedestrian Signals on any of the streets you cross? I
live in Suffolk County in NY and I have been working with others putting
them in where I have consumers request them . I did one yesterday.
