They have nice ones at J&J Dog Supplies - Google them as I can't find their
website at the moment. They are called a "Service Dog Leash" and they are
EXACTLY like the ones from GDB. I don't know the price as I bought mine a
few years ago. They are a latigo - dark brown/reddish in color with silver
colored hardware. They are soft but strong. But DO keep them out of your
dog's mouth as a dog loves new leather.

For chewing leashes in class, does this occur during a lecture where you sit
at a desk in class? If so, I would have the dog lie right next to your foot
with your foot on the leash up by the snap to the collar. the rest of the
leash will come up on the other side of your foot - away from the dog's
reach - and just tuck the end under your thigh. Your dog will be real
restricted but maybe he will learn in a hurry that it isn't fun to chew
leashes anymore. You will have total control over the dog and you'll feel
any movement of the head.
