[nagdu] Off leash recall

When Lexia is off leash, she will run, but part of the reason that she runs
is because she knows that the other person to whom she is running is holding
a dog treat. I try not to over use treats, but, for Lexia, they tend to work
wonders when keeping her focused.

I have had dogs for many years, and the one thing I have learned is, the
best way to get the dog to come to you is, you have to be more fun then what
they are doing.  A dog trainer I listen to on the radio says. bund a bit at
the knees crap your hands and call the dog to you in a silly  higher voice
and a very happy come and play with me voice.  Try clapping and calling come
here, come here, come  come come come.
Acted like you are the most fun thing this dog will see in years.  Them when
he comes give him a pad on the head a tickle under the chin and say think
you.
It's hard, we have a dog that once she is out and realizes she is off leash,
she goes, and doesn't come back.  So we don't let her off leash.
I do believe that there are some dogs that may love you to death, but when
they want to run, they run.

Don't know if it is the same thing but I have a very long leash type thing
about 30 feet. I have tried to real my dog in but The rope ends up cutting
me. Is this the same thing?

when I was having recall issues with the Acelet.

leash and increasing the distance, but my dog knows when he is on and off
leash and act completely differently. I have tried treats and I've tried
corrections. The treats that I have tried include cheese, snausages, kibble,
chicken, and nothing works. My dog acts great with other dogs and my dog
watches whoever has the toy except me but when I try to do training with out
dogs it is as if I am not there. My dog keeps showing me time and time again
that he can't handle freedom. He will not play on Flexi lead. I know he
needs to play but it is hard to let him play when I can't trust him. Any
suggestions?

as we are blind it is a good skill for the dogs to have. Am I Just being too
strict with my dog?
