[nagdu] Puppy raiser contact

All three of my dogs have come from GDF. I met the people who raised Rachel, and some of the people responsible for Caroline's raising. Acelet was raised by a college student in Georgia, who did not come to celebration Sunday. I've never had really close contact with any raiser. Like Tracy, I've written the occasional email, but that's pretty much the extent of it. I don't have strong feelings about it one way or the other.

And, I'm sure you'll will understand when I say I was in part they had no resolution either. We both gave it our best try and the fact that I willingly returned to the same school and worked with 3 of my five dog guides for between 8 & 10 years speaks for itself.

We'd exchange Christmas cards, or the occasional email, though most of my GDB dogs went out before email became so ubiquitous. So, while I would be happy to talk to my TSE dog's raisers, and hear stories about him as a puppy, it's not a big deal to me. I wrote them a letter, letting them know how he was adjusting to his life, and how much I adore him. They did not write back, and I'm OK with that. I think it's rather silly to have to pass all correspondence through the school, but I can see why people might want it that way.
