[nagdu] Doggie Harness games WAS nagdu] Raincoats?

Hahaha! Hearing these silly games made me laugh. Jenny does the shadow thing... I go anywhere near the front door (to get something I left in my coat pocket, for example), she'll wander around happily in circles wagging her tail as if to say "You're going somewhere! Make that, WE're going somewhere." She actually does love her harness so much that she shoves her head through it, sometimes not giving me time to buckle it before she thinks we're ready to go. LOL

Same thing with sweaters. In winter I have sweaters for her, and I can take off her harness and leash and she's more than happy to wander through the house wearing her warm fuzzy sweater. LOL Now if only I can find a raincoat that fits...

You wouldn't trade that lovely silly girl for anything, however; GSD's tend
to play games, and while I have gotten my other dogs to do it, I still
haven't gotten Huck to put his head up for the harness, but I bet a few
kibble over a week, gradually fading them out, will work wonders.

Gary,

Mitzi has an orange raincoat, I think by RuffWear. Once she heard how
stylish she looks in it, she was happy to wear it. /lol/

Funny. We do the slow speed chase when the harness comes out, too. It seems
important to her for some reason, so it's just part of the ritual.
She's funny. If I'm getting ready to go somewhere, she will shadow me all
over the house, usually in perfect position, except to block the door if I
look like I might be heading that way. So I take out the harness, and she
starts avoiding me -- just out of reach. Or she will run to my husband for
protection, knowing perfectly well that he will grab her and hold her for
me. Of course, if I put down the harness and head for the door to grab my
cane and go without her, she will not allow that! She also seems sort of
offended that I'm not playing the game right. Once the game has been played,
the harness goes on, and she is happy. Very strange critters, poodles. /lol/

Bogart's wardrobe. I bought one from a pet store here called Tisol. They
might be in alberta as well. It has velcrow under his tummy and around his
neck and it is worn under his harness. It is a sort of lime green colour.
Nice and bright. Weirdly they wanted another $20 for a yellow coat. His cost
$40 if I recall corectly. Bogart doesn't mind the rain sometimes but he
hates working in the rain and hates his raincoat. When Igrab it he starts
walking away as we do our slow "white bronco" chase through the house.
<smile> However, if I took bogart at face value I would think he never
wanted to work. When I ask him to go into his harness he turns his head away
and we think aboutr it for awhile. I give him about 30 seconds to comply
before I put it on hm. However, he enjoys his work and generally, except
when the rain coat is on, works with tons of energy.

around in another schools coat. <smile> they are locatred in eastern canada
so are more worried about snow than rain.
