[nagdu] Raw feeding

The raw v. processed food debate going on here, reminds me of the breast v.
formula debates moms get into. 
I just had my second baby, so this is a current topic in my life now. 
Bottom line for both debates is that both work, you can do some of both, all
of both, or one or the other. Both options must be taken into account with
the rest of your life as neither babies or dogs live in a world that is all
about them. Both have people on either side that will go the mat over this
issue. Interestingly enough, the internet is full of hard core members that
don't seem to exist in the real world. 
If Ben's food works for him and works for you, I wouldn't worry about it.
Feeding raw seems like a lot of work, though with the right support system
and lifestyle, it can certainly work. Same applies for processed food, it's
also work, we're just more socialized to the level of effort.

I really mind these blanket declarations that raw feeding is always the very
best thing.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I tried raw
feeding with my dog Echo, a labrador.  I tried for a while, and I tried
different combinations, but she had diarrhea all the time.  I would think
I'd found the food to clear it up, and then it would start again.  As soon
as I went back to a high-quality kibble, she was fine, and lived a long,
healthy life.
I know raw food works very well for some dogs.  I also know it did not work
at all for Echo, and I'm sure my experience is not unique.
Different dogs have different needs. Many can thrive on raw food, but not
all.
