Ah; Julie that is what mine was called; yes. I think you'd be happier with
a stronger grinder; mine never did have enough get-up-and go, so my dog
hated it.

There are grinders that work very fast. Tracy has one. Probably your
friend has the same grinder that I have, the Pedipaws. That's probably the
most popular nail grinder because they had a lot of commercials and are sold
in all sorts of stores, not just pet stores. It worked great when I first
bought it. It's just lost it's get up and go. New batteries might help,
but for the price of batteries, I am half way to buying a new and more
powerful grinder. So for now I use the clippers, do touch ups with the
grinder and think about about buying a nicer grinder.

know how much is being cut. hmmm. maybe i'll just stick with what i am
doing.

spend loads of time on a task that my dog is already not thrilled with. :)

there, so I can feel exactly how much nail is sticking out and how much I'm
cutting. The type of clippers I use look like a cross between scissors and
plyers. the handles are like plyers, but the blades are flat and come
together like scissors. The blades are curved, so that when they are open
it makes a hole in the center where the nail to be cut goes.

first to trim and then the Pedipaws to smooth sharp edges. It works. I'm
thinking of getting a nail grinder with more umph though. I like the
grinder better, but mine is slow and stops all together from time to time.
