[nagdu] Bite or Not?

We found a mark on my retired guide's face just above her teeth (eye teeth
or whatever you call them).  More important than the location, how can I
tell if this is a dog bite or some other injury, and do I need to be
concerned?

 

We have a temporary boarder who has a pit mix who is somewhat protective of
toys that aren't even hers; if she is biting either of my dogs, he'll have
to go-that I can't tolerate
