Bob, 

Not sure where you live but you may want to look into the Coast Guard Auxiliary. It’s not all about boats and water safety and depending on the flotilla you join, there are many opportunities. 

Send me a note off line and I can get you to the right place to check it out. 

I’ve been an Auxiliary member since 2008 and am currently our flotilla’s Diversity Officer.
