[nagdu] The Arizona Legislation

Hi All:

I am obviously a bit behind on messages. I just read the digest for Feb. 18.

I have a simple question, and pardon my ignorance. What or who is CCI? I have not heard that abbreviation before.

Is this legislator a Republican—does anybody know? I don't want to point fingers, because I am certain there are a number of people in both political parties on this list. I do know however that as a general occurrence, it is often Democrats who push harder for equal rights and social issues. I forget where I heard this recently, but supposedly there is a group of Republicans who want to see things go back to the way they were before Civil Rights was implemented. If this is really the case, all I can say is that anyone wishing to do this is cutting off their nose despite their face. Even with this crazy legislation in Arizona alone, would it go through, the backlash will probably be more than this legislator was bargaining for.

I would be curious to know what spawned this crackpot dor to put such an idea out on the table. I'm wondering if he had a bad experience with a service dog in a public place? Maybe he just does not like animals period, and wants to do what he can to minimize them from being around the general public. Either way, there's absolutely no excuse. In fact, I think a bunch of Arizonans ought to demand his removal from public office.

Thanks!
