The other thing that can be annoying is when Holly pulls a little harder
than she should and we find ice! I don't know where you are Raven but here
in Ann Arbor, a lot of that snow turned into ice! I had to relearn about
skiing on my shoes in the church parking lot last Sunday! Holly don't slip
much though!

Yeah, we got a snowstorm here in MI on Saturday. 6 to 14 inches, depending
on the region.

The Golden Guy and I went out and played in the snow. He loves digging in
it, running around in it, and chasing snowballs. Oh, and snow is yummy
apparently.

Can't say I miss independent travel in it though. West MI winter is what
made me get a guide dog in the first place. No matter what you use,
traversing unshoveled, icy paths is no fun, and getting lost can definitely
happen when your dog thinks they're doing the right thing by taking you
around a snow drift, but they're actually bypassing a sidewalk or street
crossing.

I keep on top of the Golden Guy's claws during winter to prevent tearing the
Pawz boots. I have a nail grinder here that I use on him a couple times a
week for maintenance.
