Tom, fully trained guide dogs can go with you on trains and planes, stay
with you in hotels. Some transport do allow pets. But you would have to
check which allow and which don't. Just south of me in Portland allow pets
on busses and light rail. Our transit where I live in WA allow pets in
carriers, aka, goats were on the bus with me. Every system is different
unique to that area. It is just generally across the country pet, pups in
training are not aloud, but there are exceptions.

I will check in Maryland and the idea of getting a future guide dog may not
work for me, since the pup would have to be on public transport at times.  I
don't drive, since 2012 when I fell off my bicycle, and am legally blind.
