John, I'm not sure what testing you're talking about. I will say
that it is easier to work with a dog in some cases, when you are
in familiar surroundings, because you can give the commands to
your dog with more confidence. However, walking with a dog in
unfamiliar settings can be fine, too, it's just that you aren't
always as sure of what commands to give. But it's like being
anywhere that's unfamiliar. You figure one thing out, or ask for
directions. You get those directions and go with them as far as
they'll take you, and so on.

I went through graduate school with my first dog; with my third
dog, I worked at IRS for seven years with my third dog; my
husband and I began dating partly because of my 4th dog; my 5th
and 6th dogs led me confidently at conventions, around the RV
park where we stayed in southern California. My 8th dog has
guided me to and from work, as well as other events, and is
showing me that she is one of the best dogs I've ever had. I
look forward to working with her over the next years.

John, I'm not sure what you're looking for. Hope this helps,
though. Debby and Nova
