[NAGDU] These Boots were made for Walkin'...?

Hi, everyone!
I have a question about dog boots...
I have traditionally used Pawz boots for my guide, but I have found that her nails and/or sharp edges of ice will cut the boots fairly easily... I've already gone through half a pack in less than two months! They also don't protect at all from the cold!
The only problem is that almost any other boot I've tried, my guide will either not walk at all in them, or will kick them off.
I've found a solution I think might work, by putting little socks on her paws, then putting the pawz boots over them for waterproofing, which tackles both the cold and the tearing issues.
Has anyone else done this? Any other suggestions? I can't work my guide here without any form of boots, because it is simply too cold for her, and having her walk with tears in the Pawz boots means that water can get in, which makes her feet cold...

Thanks a bunch!

Daryl
