[NAGDU] updating airport relief areas

Bryan, Claire Rose and I have had 10 flights since we left guide dog
school in July. Eight of them have been through Atlanta. It is
difficult to book flights with enough time to get to the relieving area
outside of security down at the other end of the terminal and back
through security to the next plane. Claire Rose simply would not use
the foul artificial grass there we snuck across a road onto some grass.
TSA officers are not well trained in Atlanta, so you need to plan on
even having a longer period of time between flights.

On the other hand, the Delta disability desk for booking is wonderful
and they have accommodated us very well in seats that have plenty of
extra room without charging for either the Comfort Plus locations or the
telephone booking fees. They've even kept seats open next to us when it
is possible. On one trip they reassigned a booked passenger when there
weren't enough Comfort Plus seats. Delta crews have been great, as well,
I wasn't even aware that they had relocated someone who was in the seat
next to me who had apparently complained about sharing the row with us
until I was chatting with an attendant after we landed. It was clear
from my conversations that with so many ESAs to cope with, flight
attendants are delighted to be able to deal with people who have trained
service dogs.

GDF scheduled a TSA Personal Services Officer to meet us for a flight
from LaGuardia and she was absolutely fabulous.

Being able to go down to the tarmac or to a grassy area in Atlanta would
be wonderful. What airline were you on?
