[NAGDU] How to get break a dog in a Blizzard?

Hi all, I think of blizzards like the ones in The Long Jinter, 
and I know that ow'd be so terrified to be outside in all that 
snow and wind.  How do you stay oriented? When we had our big 
wind storm here in November, the dogs ran out into the backyard, 
did their thing and ran back inside.  We generally don't have 
huge wind storms like that, either.  And I'm good with standing 
in the rain or snow, but I just have never really experienced a 
blizzard.  So I'm very curious how you all handle that.    Debby
