[NAGDU] Road trip!!!

Hey!
So hubby and I and a couple friends are taking a road trip through the NW USA (WA, OR, ID, MT). Would love any pointers for LONG road trips with guide dogs, camping pointers (aside from the obvious), ways to de-stress dog after hours and hours in a car, expectations for acceptance or refusals in some of those areas, etc.
I know my dog well, so I know that especially in new environments she likes short-term targets (finding doors, poles, steps) rather than not being given any direction beyond "slow down!" I also know that in campgrounds, especially ones that are pet-friendly, I'll use a Halti or a Newtrix to help with dog distractions, but I'll also give her ample opportunity to sniff around.
Any other recommendations for things to do, places to go, tips and tricks for the longest road trip in history??
 I am SO excited!
