[NAGDU] Problem with Turo car rental

I'm not sure if I completely agree with this assertion. Rental car agencies
will detail every vehicle when it is returned because everyone tracks into a
vehicle a little bit of debris, known as wear & tear. Rental car agencies do
not charge for such wear & tear, only the damage caused outside of that
normal use, such as a tear in the upholstery should you leave a screwdriver
in your pocket when sitting down in the car.

The same is true with a hotel. You are not expected to vacuum your
hotel room before you leave nor wash the linens. This is done as a matter of
course to prepare the room for the next guest and the same is true in the
car rental industry.

Fraternally yours,
Marion

Subject: Re: [NAGDU] Problem with Turo car rental

Hello:

When renting a car it is your responsibility to return the car in clean
condition. Therefore, if your dogs left a lot of hair in the car then get
it cleaned up before returning it. When friends and I rented cars we always

put blankets on the back seat and floor to catch any dog hair. A small car
vac is a good cleanup tool. These rules are just the same if people left
cookie crumbs all over the car. The rental company cannot rent that car
again until it has been cleaned. It is much cheaper for you to clean it
yourself than to pay their cleaning charges.

Subject: [NAGDU] Problem with Turo car rental

Turo is one of those car rental services that allows individuals to rent
their cars. We took a trip and our 2 service animals were in the car. When
we returned the car there was dog hair. Everything else about the car was
good. The person we rented from wanted to charge us $150.00 to clean the
dog hair from the car. My husband argued with them and we were not charged.
The car owner gave us a bad review on Turo and said they would change the
review if we paid $150.00.

We have rented cars from major car companies over the years and this has
never been a problem. Does anyone know if this is legal? Who should I
contact about possible recourse in this situation?
