Also, you may want to consider a probiotic; they are good for dogs as well as people.

Hi,
I use human grade fish oil capsules for my dogs from wild caught fish sources. I go to www.pipingrock.com for most of our nutritional supplements, quick and good prices. I went through five years of soft stool and other digestive issues with Bailey and finally found the right balance of natural fibber and a food that is less dense in fatty acids. He is 7 and is finally giving me great stool, no gas and appears so much happier. I give him raw carrots and apple in his food once a day for fiber. He eats Royal Canin digestive care. Dogs with sensitive digestion are challenging, if this is what is effecting your dog -- you will find the right things to help Ellie, just don't give up!
Best,
Annie

Subject: [NAGDU] Update on Ellie

An update on Ellie. I talked with the vet and my trainer at Guiding Eyes. My vet didn't recommend Victor food because she said it had to many fatty accis and too much fiber in it and would make her poop more and the stools larger.
She said I could move up to Purina Pro Plan; however, neither did GEB. Since I already purchased the Victor Performance they said I could feed it and see how it goes. But, they want her back on Hill's Science Diet Chicken and Barley wich is what she was on in training and in class. My vet approved when we went for our first visit so that is what I'm going to do. My vet also said that I could give her a tablespoon of pumpkin every day as a treat to firm up her stools.
Per the heavy shedding, she said maybe she is getting her new coat and recommended fish oil capsules once a day and a Furminator. Already have the Furminator and use it every other day. Do any of you use fish oil for your dog and can you recommend something? It can even be the ones you use for yourself.
