ACCESSIBLE. FLEXIBLE. FUN.Â
The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is committed to expanding
opportunities for blind and low-vision students in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our NFB STEM2U program provides
accessible STEM experiences to blind youth, equipping them with the
nonvisual tools and techniques to spark curiosity and support future
success in STEM fields.
We're excited to announce that the full STEM2U e-learning curriculum is now
available online! Complete the STEM2U e-learning form [2] to receive the
link. Be one of the first 30 registrants and you will be entered into a
raffle to win a free STEM2U supply kit!
The curriculum includes:
* Step-by-step instructions for fun, accessible experiments using
everyday materials
* Electronic versions of our activity booklet and tactile graphics
* Instructional videos to support learning at home or in the classroom
alongside a teacher of blind students
Please note: Activities are self-guided. Hard copies of materials,
including Braille and tactile graphics, must be produced independently. If
you need help accessing Braille or tactile production, we encourage you to
contact your local NFB state affiliate [3].
Complete the STEM2U e-learning form [2] today to access the full
curriculum.
Let's explore, experiment and excel wherever you are!
ABOUT NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND EDUCATION INITIATIVES
The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines the future of blind and low-vision youth.
Through our extensive education programs, we present blind children with
new ideas, expose teachers and families to our positive philosophy on
blindness, and encourage blind youth to reach their full potential. For
more information about our education programs, please contact us at
education at nfb.org or 410-659-9314, extension 2418.
