Every year, NFB affiliates host NFB STEM2U, a full-day event for blind and low-vision students in grades K-12. Participants engage in accessible, hands-on, nonvisual STEM lessons and activities, connect with blind role models and peers, and explore pathways to STEM careers. 2026 THEME: SCIENCE SLEUTHS Calling all investigators! A crime has been committed, and we need help solving the case! Students will rotate through evidence stations, apply accessible science techniques, and collaborate to solve the mystery using forensic science, critical thinking, and teamwork. REGISTRATION Registration for the 2026 in-person programs is currently open. Visit nfb.org/stem2u [2] to find participating affiliates. ABOUT NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND EDUCATION INITIATIVES The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines the future of blind and low-vision youth. Through our extensive education programs, we present blind children with new ideas, expose teachers and families to our positive philosophy on blindness, and encourage blind youth to reach their full potential. For more information about our education programs, please contact us at education at nfb.org or 410-659-9314, extension 2418.
