Thank you very much for the helpful feedback.

At the moment, I don't need to try the CAPTCHA Be Gone plug-in.  The 
site-admin was able to remove the CAPTCHA requirement for my account.  
The fuzzy picture and the edit box are still there, but as long as I 
leave it blank, it lets me in with my ID and Password.

I still have the CAPTCHA Be Gone site bookmarked, in case I need to give 
it a go in the future.
