WEBINAR EVENT: NATIONAL SUMMIT ON CAREERS IN THE ARTS
FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

July 22-24, 2009

 

The Broadcast of this event is being made available through funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, National Network of ADA Centers (DBTAC), The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research (NIDRR).

 

This is a live event taking place at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.  Several Sessions during this 3 day event will be made available via a webinar.   Individuals can connect from their homes or offices and join any or all of the scheduled events.  Instructions for connecting to the webinar are listed below the schedule of broadcast events.      All times are "approximate" as this is a live event and there may be some fluctuations in the timing of sessions starting and ending.

Questions from webcast participants will be incorporated into the program as time and circumstances allow.   We cannot guarantee that all of your questions will be conveyed to the speakers during the sessions.

 

The DBTAC webinar system is fully accessible to individuals using assistive technology to participate.   Streaming Real-time captioning is available throughout the webcast.  Use of Real-time captioning will require opening a second browser window and resizing both windows so that you can view the presentation and captions side-by-side.  Instructions for accessing the real-time captioning are found below the instructions for logging into the webinar system.  It is highly recommended that individuals test their computer systems for compatibility with this system in advance of the program.  Many firewall system will block the plug-in and you may need to consult an IT person for assistance.  We cannot be responsible for problems with your internet connection, firewalls, or any personal computer hardware or software issues that may interfere with your participation in the program.  Technology is never perfect and problems such as dropped connection, loss of sound, etc. can be anticipated.  Please be patient. ·         Windows XP/Vista Operating System;

·         Internet Explorer V6-7, 8 (Not Firefox) 

·         High-Speed Connection to the Internet (minimum download speed: 600 kbps, minimum upload speed: 350 kbps). 

2.   Test your PC's multimedia capabilities and Internet speed by clicking on the following link:
http://www.onlineconferencingsystems.com/echo.exe. An application will download to your system. It is safe to use and virus-free. Click on "Run" twice to start the utility. All the test results should be "excellent" or "good."   

3.   Click this link to download and install the IDEAL Conference® Plug-In. 

Important Notes: 

·         The plug-in needs to downloaded and installed every time you enter the auditorium. The client application is updated often and you must have the current version installed to avoid incompatibility problems. 

·         If you experience problems downloading and/or installing the IDEAL Conference® Plug-In, please skip to Option #2.

·         Once the plug-in has been installed, click here to enter the conference room.

·         A dialog box will display prompting you to enter a "User Name" and "Password." Enter your first and last name in the "User Name" field. 

·         Please leave the password field blank. 

·         Click the Log On button.
