                          ANNOUNCING!  The 70th Annual Convention of the

                   NATIONAL FEDERATION of the BLIND of CALIFORNIA



When:   October 21—24, 2010.



Where:  Crowne Plaza Hotel, 17941 Von Karman Avenue, Irvine, CA  92614.



Rates:  In order to take advantage of the convention rate of $84.00 per 
night plus tax you should make hotel reservations before you pre-register 
for the convention.  You will be asked to provide your hotel confirmation 
number on the pre-registration form.    Be sure to say that you will be 
attending the National Federation of the Blind of California Convention.

Convention Highlights:



Thursday, October 21-  6:00 P.M.-  Semi-annual meeting of the NFBC Board of 
Directors.



Friday, October 22-  9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.- Exhibits.  Mezzanine level.

Break out committee meetings.  Including- Resolutions, Library, Seniors, 
CABS (California Association of Blind Students),  CAGDU (California 
Association of Guide Dog Users), California Orientation Center for the Blind 
Alumni Association Inc., Education; Parents of Blind Children and more.

Friday evening- 7:00 P.M-  A play presented by members of the Pathfinders 
Chapter entitled “Blind, Sealed, and Delivered, I’m Yours”.  ($10.00)



Saturday, October 23- 9:00 A.M.- General Session begins.  Hear reports from 
our national representative, Jim Gashal.  Also, speaker topics include the 
Department of Rehabilitation; Department of Education and Executives from 
leading agencies for the blind such as;  Braille Institute; Library 
Services; Jr. Blind and more.

Saturday evening- Banquet and presentation of scholarships.  Netbook 
drawing.

After-glow party: Karaoke with the students.



Sunday, October 24- Speakers; resolutions; financial report and elections.
