Be prepared for a fairly steep learning curve if you try nvda. Their 
approach is quite a bit different from that taken by jaws.  But there is a 
fairly active support email list that you can subscribe to by sending a 
message to nvda-request at freelists.org <nvda-request at freelists.org>
