Mike, that's just nonsense. You are reading way too much into that one  
word. I have worked closely with people from the FFB. My sister is  
currently the Chairperson of the Wisconsin chapter of FFB. I've met  
several of the scientists who are doing research funded by FFB. You  
are being totally unfair.
How do you think a scientist doing research on curing retinal disease  
sees his work? He sees it as a battle to save sight.

I suppose ou think the Combat Blindess Foundation is even worse, huh?  
This is an organization founded by my former doctor, Shureesh Chandra.  
He goes around the world performing cataract surgery. He's saved the  
sight of thousands of people world wide. He's a great person.
