I'm not  surprised that San Francisco is on the list.  Busses run
ffairly  on the regular, they run pretty much anywhere in the city,
you can connect to any other transit   agency in the bay area... I
think it works quite well.   it isn't perfect though, as if you want
to find a particular bus out of three or so  who so happen to stop at
the same stop at the  same time, you need to be ready to  dash to  a
bus and hope that it's the right one. if they had stop poles like they
do in denver, that would be a little helpful.  The busses in San
Francisco have automated  bus announcements, though sometimes the bus
drivers neglect to turn them on.
 But, if you want to get somewhere in the  city, or leave the city,
you can do that.
