[nfb-talk] Convention in Orlando for 5 years

I have to humbly disagree about Portland... The singing organization to
which I belong, and which, unfortunatley, always has its big international
convention around July 4, is going to Portland next year. These conventions
routinely draw 8-10,000 participants, with a headquarters hotel that is
easily as intensively utilized as the NFB's is.

Will the room rates be as cheap? No. Will the registration fees be as low
as ours? No, but they never are, no matter whether this organization is in
Portland, or Kansas City (as it was this year). In Two years the convention
is in Toronto, and in 2018, Orlando... So, if NFB is there that year, I will
get to experience a harmonic convergence of conventions for which I've
prayed for 15 years and never thought would come to fruition.

Portland could not. No hotel in the city can even approach housing that
many.
