Hi Marsha,
I heard many people have trouble typing emails on their phones including my
sighted dad; best done for many on a regular qwerty keyboard.
So yes the internet with wireless connections is important so people can
bring their laptops, Braille Notes, Pac Mates, etc and connect to the
internet. Now the latest Braille note has Wy-fy in it.

Yes this is true, and I know for my schedule at convention I have no time
for surfing the net. But lets say, a convention attendee needs to work from
the convention, then having the internet and WiFi helps. Say you're a person
who wants to look up attractions around the hotel, it would be great to have
the internet and WiFi. And lastly, lets say your just a person who wants to
check there email, having the internet and WiFi is important. Yes, Yes, yes,
Yes, many of us have Iphones or smart phones, so we can do it from there.
And some people will say checking emails or surfing the net from your phone
is just as good as doing it on the computer, but that is not what works for
me. I tried to check all my emails on my phone, an Iphone 4, but because
there was so many messages, I could not keep up and at some point gave up.
When I got home I had 1400 emails. Definatly have learned my lesson in that
I MUST go on no mail with all my NFB lists.

Just my two cents,
marsha

Of course, the question is *why?* After all, one presumably goes to
conventions to attend meetings, not dabble on the Internet. <<putting on

More frustrating was that there was no wifi at any price anywhere in
the area of the meeting rooms. Were I to make one request of the
national office when we return, it would be to obtain internet access
for the meeting rooms and set up a few wifi routers at selected
locations for basic access.
