Joshua,
Most of us do not know each other on lists even though we might be in the 
same affiliate.
As I read the statement, he didn't even sound like a blind person. I bet he 
is some uneducated sighted person and perceives this complaint as a militant 
stance demanding accessibility for everything.
When he said,
I doubt if the
technology now exists to make them "blind friendly".

That is not true and obviously he doesn't know how touch screens can be 
rendered accessible. If you want to know him, write him off list and ask who 
he is and why he came to this conclusion.
