[nfb-talk] Got A Job: Facts about B I S M

Facts:  In the past, Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (B I S M) did not pay the minimum wage - not in any of its three factories. The NFB here in Baltimore and elsewhere in Maryland worked hard to change that for the better and we worked hard to get some very poor directors removed from being in charge of BISM.  We succeeded.   We also succeeded in influencing the BISM training center to adopt NFB training techniques and to hire several NFB-trained teachers.  Over the years since this started, the jump in skills and employability has been wonderful to see.

Ah, no. Bism is an independent entity holding NFB philosophy and many staff members are in NFB. But they are not officially sponsored by nfb.
