Subject: Helen Ditlow dies

Co-founder of The Listening Library Helen Ditlow died July 2. Ditlow and her husband Anthony started the company, which catered to the blind, in 1955, and over more than five decades she concentrated on sales, manufacturing, and distribution. (Listening Library was acquired by Random House in 1999.) Her son, former Listening Library publisher Tim Ditlow, said in a statement: "One of my mother's many favorite memories was her trip to the Listening Library sales conference in Florida, and the 50th Anniversary DVD made for Listening Library. I found out from one of her close friends that they asked her to show the video and talk about her time at LL during a special presentation at the nursing home last year. She had a lot to be proud of and I know she was happy knowing LL was still going strong."
