Greetings,

This is a list I decided to start, as RT services are very scarce in our
part of the country, especially for the older blind.

This is a group for sharing alternative nonvisual techniques of daily
living, using the "teach one, each one," philosophy. Although this group
will benefit blind persons, it is not limited to blind members. All are
welcome who have positive, constructive, and encouraging suggestions, or
questions to help out a friend or family member. Questions can range from,
"How does a blind person cut hair," to "Can I still work in my garden if I
lose more vision," to "I can't imagine how I can still use my power tools."
More than likely, if there is a daily task or hobby enjoyed by the sighted,
there is a blind person out there who has found ways of adapting and can
mentor , and encourage others.
