I certainly hope the same thing.  I'm not sure if the hotel will be founde
culpable or not, and I suppose if they hadn't taken this action, I would not
wish the convention were somewhere else, but this just doesn't look right.

Isn't the connection rather obvious?

I had not realized until I saw these news reports that the hotel we are
using for our 2019 convention is the same hotel that the Las Vegas shooter
used to massacre more 58 people in injure hundreds more. I had not made the
connection. The reason it has resurfaced in the news is that the hotel's
owners are suing the victims of the shooting, to stop them from claiming
damages from the hotel, if the hotel is found to be culpable. This seems to
be kind of a slimy move on the part of a hotel, with which the NFB is
contracting with.

Maybe we reached out to them before the shootings -- or at least before
those callous pre-emptive law suits?  Or, maybe this is why the NFB is
getting such good rates?
