[nfb-talk] Leaving My Family To Attend Training

Years ago, I used to be a rehab teacher out of the Orlando office, and had occasion to go to the Datona center for several in-service trainings. We used to stay at the Whitehall Hotel, I think it was called. The center was good back then, as I remember.
Are you in Florida, are you a client of the agency? What was your family's reaction?

My quest began with the Perkins School For The Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts. I soon discovered that they do not serve any blind adults over the age of twenty-two.
>> I also contacted the three Nfb training centers, but I was not satisfied with there program costs. The next day I came across the Rehabilitation Center For The Blind here in Daytona Beach, Florida. Last week my parents and I took a tour of the Center, and we were impressed with what we saw. The facilities were clean and all of the staff members were professional. I will be participating in the Independent Living Skills Program offered at the Rehab Center. How do I prepare to leave my family to attend training?
