[nfb-talk] Does anyone know independent blind people using wheelchairs or walkers?

I use one. You can get one for about $200 from Amizon. Only use a medical store for trying out and desiding what you want. My first was $500, from a medical store!
You can also get a hanging pouch and a basket, on line.
I like the pouch. I can put my folding cane, in there!
I can leave my walker at the table and use my cane to walk to the rest room.
It is also very handy for carying things.
My only problem with a walker is hitting bumps in the side walk. I go a lot faster with my walker and have come close to tripping, a few times.
My boyfriend holds on to my sholder and we navigat around the Walmart, craft or food store, together. Some stores have narrow iles and I have to scoot my walker, side waze, past what ever is in the way.

I like the fact that the walker is lite. I can just pick it up and put it on the sidewalk. There are not many cerb cuts in my complex.

Karen:

Dar had one letter L missing. The product is called a rollator. Google brings up detailed information and several places where they can be purchased.

It is called a rolator.
