[nfb-talk] Accessible Robot Vacuum

I thought I wanted the shark until I tried my sister's new Pet model Shark.
If you have any pets in the house the Shark will not do well. I know they
claim to have one good for pet hair but it is not all that good, especially
with my golden retrievers long hair. My sister said that my inexpensive
Hoover Dirt Devil did better with pet hair than her $200 Shark. The other
issue with the Shark is the small cup for the dirt needs to be emptied
several times if you are cleaning a two bedroom house like mine. When you
try to empty the cup the dirt and dog hair goes all over the place. I
decided to stick with my good old trusty Dirt Devil which has a bag. Yes,
there is the fact that you have to keep buying bags but if you order them
from Dirt Devil website you can get 10-packs for a very reasonable price.
The rechargeable is also a factor. Most rechargeable models do not last
long enough to clean my entire house without having to stop and let it
charge up again.

Do the shark vacuums really work? I have owned a rechargeable vac from
another company and well, it sucked! But not really. In fact that was the
problem. lol Sorry just had to throw that in there. I could vacuum over the
same area 2 and 3 times and still dirt and crums remained. I then went back
to a corded vac and now the robot. I have heard good things about the Shark,
but have afraid to take the plunge.
