Also, sometimes a USB microphone becomes your default sound device and you 
could lose speech.  You can avoid this if you go to JAWS, go to the 
Utilities menu and select the Sound Card item.  In that item, pick the 
specific sound card on your computer rather than the "Default" sound card. 
If you do that, JAWS will continue to use the sound card in your computer 
rather than being transferred to your USB sound card which likely won't play 
any audio. The list of sound cards are of the type that you press ENTER on 
the one you want and the menu closes, but if you go back in it will be 
checked.

I hope that saves you some time.  These kinds of things can vary, but I had 
to do the above on two computers when using a USB microphone.

Mark,

With the microphone connected go into Zoom and to audio settings. You can
select the microphone from a list. In my experience, using JAWS, once in the
audio settings and going to the Microphone selection box I arrow to the
microphone then I move the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor to select it. You
then also can test your audio settings within Audio settings.

Hello everyone.  I just received my computer microphone from Amazon today.
It is a desktop microphone.  I have it connected into one of my USB ports
and I’d like to use it for Zoom meetings and maybe to talk on Skype.
However, I’m not sure how to set it up so that I can actually be heard.  Any
assistance here would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance.
