I don't think you can have enough podcasts on blindness skills, as you say,
there is tons of material out there on home organization and the like.

 

I can tell you the Senior Division does really well in this arena, as many
folks there are in process of losing vision.

 

There is also a Youtube channel called Breaking Blind that offers some good
things, and you'll find other resources there too if you put in the correct
search parameters..

 

Hadley also does a lot on Daily Living skills, I believe.

Some months back, I posed a question to this list wondering if there was a
need for more targeted podcasts discussing blindness skills, maybe offering
tips for how to organize things around your home, use technology, or do
whatever. I have to confess, in this area, I feel a bit jealous of the ACB,
since they've done such a good job in the podcasting space. I don't like
this feeling, but I have it, and it prompts me to revisit this question.

 

While I like the Nation's Blind podcast, I can't help wondering if a podcast
discussing practical ways to deal with doing things as a blind person would
be necessary. Is there really a need. I think of such things as how to
organize your home, time management, or other skills. I do recognize that
travel may not adapt well to a podcast, but tech tips, home organization and
time management might work. Yet when it comes to organization and time
management, there are a lot of books in the mainstream about these topiss.

 

Anyway, is there still a need for something along these lines? Why or why
not? If there really is a need, how can we start it? Is there anyone who can
take it on? Thanks.
