Well every good morning. This is my point of view of the mentoring. First of all, I feel it's a great opportunity to help other blind indivivuals with cane travel issues. I have ben to a N.F.B. training center and have learned non-visual ways for cane travel. I have also done low-vision cane travel training here in the state of Arizona. I know one withing is true. That persons who have travel skills can teach others. I have done this in the state of Arizona. I am not certified but have great skills and have learned much in cane travel. This is just another opportunity to see if others might be interested in joining the N.F.B. and at the same time help mentor them in cane travel. Persons who are interested of course will have common sense and not just go and take a mentor out and leave them to being injured. Those who are choosing to mentor of course will also use common sense and work with those who need help. z can say from persoanl experience that I will be able to teach the methods of cane travel I have learned. Wheter is requires visual or non-visual travel techniques. I hope that this is words of encouragement, I too at one time was like these people who need mentoring and feel I could be of benefit. Thanks again. Arlen Keen Jr
