  Hello Everyone,

Thank you for letting us all know about how things are going with you Rob, and I hope you continue to get better.

I read with interest your two messages to us. I consider myself to be one of the most outspoken people about the independence of blind people. However, considering that in the past, I have been a somewhat vocal critic of some blind people who (even if they knew how) didn't always exercize their right to full independence and first-class citizenship as a matter of right, I still feel that you and Sarah were absolutely right in your particular cituation. Far from exploiting dependency on your part, I think that Sarah, in making medical decisions for you, may have very well saved your life. There's definitely an exception here. Meanwhile, Keep getting better and hope to see you at State convention next week.

> I thought I would finally give everyone on these three lists an update on my medical situation: As some of you might know, I wound up in St. Mary"ness hospital a week before Laborday with a very bad infection which went sepsis on me. For about four days, I was almost comatose. I was sleeping most of the time, and my fiance, Sarah had to make all medical decisions for me. In Fact, she finally told me the other night that if we had waited another 48 hourseaI most likely would have died. I was on dialisis for two days. On Laborday, I was transferred to Knowls West Nursing home where I was finally released yesterday.

> I was very fortunate to have my Angel fiance, Sarah there the whole time durring this time. Of course, it was and is always nice to have God on my side as well.

> I wasn"ment aware that I was exployting dependents. The reason why Sarah was making medical decisions for me was because I (do to my medical situation at the time) needed to make the medical decisions for me do to the fact that I was out of it. As a matter of fact, Sarah is incouraging me to go to my own doctor"ness appointments and to church (ETC) by using pera transit so that I don"ment lose my indipendents.
