> Hello Rochelle,

> My name is Alicia Beam-Ingram and I work for Mississippi Industries for the Blind. I am contacting you to see if you know of any people who are currently looking for work in the San Diego area. We have a contract with the Navy’s Household Goods division at 937 North Harbor Drive in San Diego. We are looking to expand the number of people employed by this contract. Specifically, we are searching for legally-blind individuals who can use magnification software to perform data entry tasks on a computer. Their job duties will include reviewing emails that come into a central inbox. Each email contains a service member’s moving documents in an attachment. They would be using Outlook to open up these emails and attachments as well as Adobe Reader to review the attachment for accurate information. They would then transfer the email with the attachment into the Navy’s database program, after cross-referencing the service member’s information in an Excel spreadsheet. Only general computer skills with some knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Outlook are necessary. This position is a full-time position with working hours of 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Position is paid with salary and benefits commensurate with federal wage determinations. In addition there is a health and welfare benefits. After a candidate is accepted it will be at least 8 – 10 weeks before an individual begins work, because a Federal background investigation needs to take place.
