Hello All,

It is time once again to sign up for Washington Seminar!

The 2026 Washington Seminar will take place January 26 - January 29, 2026.
The Washington Seminar is the premier legislative advocacy event of our
organization. Members of the National Federation of the Blind from across
the United States converge on our nation's capitol to advance our common
legislative priorities. We synchronize our efforts and meet with our elected
officials. This collective advocacy makes a strong statement to encourage
our government to adopt important laws affecting blind people. Nothing quite
compares to the feeling of making change while having fun with your positive
blind colleagues.

You will get the opportunity to develop a relationship with your
Congressional Representative and Senators and meet with them in DC. The
National Federation of the Blind of California will be sending up to 10
members to participate in this year's Washington Seminar. If selected to
participate you will receive a $700 grant to help cover some travel costs.
Grant recipients are expected to attend various meetings, travel
independently, work with your team, communicate with your team and the
Washington Seminar Coordinator Tiffany Manosh. If not selected to receive a
grant, you are still welcome to participate in all or part of Washington
Seminar. However, you will still be required to attend all of the meetings
listed below if you wish to present any of our priorities. Once the
California delegation has been selected you should plan to arrive in
Washington D.C. no later than Sunday January 25th and leave no earlier than
2:00 pm on Thursday January 29th to assist with appointments Thursday
morning. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form
below and submit your request. The deadline is November 30, 2025.

Meetings to Attend: You will be trained and given sufficient support to
take on the important work. To ensure we can give you the tools you will
need, we ask that you attend the following mandatory meetings to prepare and
practice the materials:

*	One Large Group Meeting
*	Two or Three Small Group Meetings to work through and practice the
priorities
*	Legislative Workshop (Monday afternoon, January 26, 2026)

*	Appointments - You will be assigned at least One or more to schedule
before arriving in DC. These appointments will be your Representative and
others that are assigned to you. The appointments typically are scheduled
for 30 minutes and should be scheduled for January 27 through January 29th,
